Membership and Representation

All students living in the 36 residence halls of Ohio University are invited and welcome to join the Residence Hall Association. RHA serves as a liaison between our hall councils and our regional organization, CAACURH (Central Atlantic Association of College and University Residence Halls). RHA is meant to act as a resource for hall councils to rely on. We want to foster and build those inclusive communities that lead to memorable experiences for our students. We want to emulate our student body and reflect the amazing community they have all worked so hard to build here.

Outreach

The Residence Hall Association strives to unite the students in the residence halls by giving them an active voice and improving relations with the Ohio University administration. RHA provides and supports social, cultural, recreational and educational programming for on-campus students.

Bobcat Connect

Bobcat Connect is a dictionary of all University affiliated student organizations and clubs. If you would like to become a member of RHA, you can join using the button below or if you would like more information about our organization!

Annual Elections

Each spring, the Residence Hall Association elects eight executive officers to lead the group for the following academic year. These positions comprise the Executive Board of RHA: President, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Vice President for Finance & CFO, Vice President for Programming, Vice President for Marketing & Public Relations, Vice President for Student Services, Vice President of DEI initiatives, and National Communications Coordinator. For more information about elections, make sure to attend our general body meetings, Mondays 7pm-8pm at the LLC room 102/104.

History

Ohio University’s Residence Hall Association, or RHA, was founded in 1994 under the direction of Dr. James Sand. Prior to this time, each of the university’s three residential greens had its own green council. In 2022, the Residents' Action Council, or tRAC, decided to change its name to RHA following the pandemic in order to align more closely with the national standard for on campus housing organizations.
